Roman Polanski’s 'The Ghost' to start in February 2009
After nearly two decades, Oscar winning filmmaker Roman Polanski is finally get back to directing with a modern political thriller film titled ‘The Ghost’. He last directed the flick ‘Oliver Twist’. The shooting ‘The Ghost’ is going to start on February 4th, 2009 in Germany. The film is based on best-selling book ‘The Ghost’ by Robert Harris.
The flick is starring a powerhouse cast of Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Cattrall, Tom Wilkinson, Jim Belushi, and Olivia Williams.
The film is about a ghostwriter who is hired to complete the memoirs of a former British prime minister. He uncovers secrets that put his own life in jeopardy. Pierce Brosnan is playing the character of British Prime Minister Adam Lang and McGregor as ghostwriter.
Robert Benmussa and Alain Sarde will produce the film. Summit International, which has a long-standing relationship with Polanski and the producers, will represent worldwide rights to the film.
Polanski said: "I have been looking for a political thriller to direct for some time, and 'The Ghost' could not be more perfect. Robert has constructed a novel with such suspense; it is hard to put it down."
Robert Harris said that: “The story takes place in an oceanfront house during the middle of winter”.
