Fabrican, literally ‘fabric in an aerosol can’, is a product created by Spanish designer Dr Manel Torres who has spent 10 years working on it. The clothes made with his invention fit you like a second skin, it’s very ingenious, but how does it work?
So, for those who wonder how it works, the spray can is filled with a liquid mixture made of cotton fibres, polymers and solvents. You spray it directly on yourself but have to wear goggles to protect your eyes.
It dries as soon as it hits the skin, so once you’re done, you can take your creation off, wash it and wear it again. You can even dissolve your creation and use the material again to make something new.
And it’s not it, it could apparently be used for other purposes: wound healing products, dressings and patches. Instant non-woven fabric for interiors, stain-resistant upholstery. Household/hospital wipes, nappies and towels… etc.
