In case you didn't know, if you decide to rock out naked in your bathroom with an empty bottle of Coors Light as a substitute hairbrush (meaning a pretend microphone) you WILL inevitably be distracted by the size of your pores and a zit you didn't even know was there and you will half get on the counter to get a better look, promptly elbowing your mic to the ground equaling broken glass everywhere including the hallway.








All things said and done, I just got one of the coolest text to landline messages from my friend Howie...

"LISTEN ALL Y'ALL IT'S A NICOLA!"

This is a play on Beastie Boys because tonight I am performing Sabotage at Osheaga with Hollerado and Howie thinks that's exciting. So do I!


I think I am going to wear my black taffeta prom dress of the ruffly tube variety and my Arizona Iced Tea boots...
















I am really excited to rock out with the choir because we had SO MUCH FUN last time. Yup yup yup, tell your baby mama's mamas...the show is at 10:15 ce soir.

Howie says that he would come but he is en route to Ottawa to play at Ska Fest Oh Nine. His band Stepper has a show at Maverick's tonight, actually they have two shows, one at 8 and one at 11. I was telling him how my cousin Peter's band is playing in the festival as well and when I told him the name of the band Howie was all "No way! We've totally played with them before!"
















Small world dot see eh, eh?? Also, when Howie was on tour this past month, he passed Hollerado on the highway! They have a very distinctively decorated van. Howie's band's van broke down three days into their month long tour. Talk about a bummer! They soldiered on and rented one and since all the innards of the van were effed the fuck out, they sold the van for what it was worth in the bummered condition it was in and I do believe he said it came out to 30 dollars cash! Lame lame lame.

Anyway, my cousin Peter's band is Tea for the Voyage and they play at the Rainbow Bistro on Murray tomorrow... hmmmmm...afternoon and evening??

Anyway, la la la la la, I'm nervous but excited, have a lovely day.





















P.S. Oh my gosh, the funniest thing was when I was working Friday at 10 pm and I went to la Boite Karaoke all by myself at like 9:46 and did Sabotage and then walked right off stage and out the door. The idea was that I wanted to practice but didn't really care to hear any whatthefucks, I just wanted to cruise in and cruise out and that's just what I did, PEACE.
