American Idol makes everyone cry

I haven't been watching American Idol at all this year so when all of a sudden a ton of my friends on Facebook and Twitter at once started writing how the show was making them weep uncontrollably tonight I was like whaaat the faaaa?  Did Randy Jackson quit now too, because that's not sad?

I was quickly filled in on a contestant named Chris Medina who undoubtably is getting all the votes this season after his backstory broke even the manliest of hearts.  I apologize in advance if this clip is pulled from YouTube because FOX files a copyright claim and wants to hoard this depressing footage for themselves to spring upon us when we're not expecting it again.

But it really should be shared because it puts things into perspective.  For some people, this could be the wake up call they need to live life to the fullest, stop sweating the small stuff, and be thankful for what they have.

But she's so pretty!  They were so happy!  Her face when he proposed... I seriously had to rewind and watch it again.  Even though Julianna is alive, he's lost that smiling girl overcome with emotion.  They had a life planned!  And life threw them this unbelievably unfair tragedy.

If only American Idol could solve everything... and if only all human beings were as devoted as Chris Medina.  That's the definition of true love.  He's going above and beyond those vows that he never had a chance to make.



Just stop the competition right now and just give him the damn thing!  He's actually talented.

P.S. Who would have thought Steven Tyler would be such a kindhearted and compassionate judge?  I mean I'm basing that on this one clip alone but wow...
