Pretty nice start Royce. The whole learning to film and video edit is about trying something out, look at it with a critical eye and the fix what can be better... And with your age, and effort, you could probably become really good. You seem to have a basic idea of what you want to do.
Now to the constructive critisism :)
I think looking at these videos, my next move would be to try and stabilize the shots even more. Make your pans really smoothe... do this by panning 1-2 secs more than you want in each end of the shot and then edit that part out. It's often the beginning and the end where some stuttering occurs, especially if you don't have a video head for the stand.
"Less is more"... a popular phrase that still holds merit. In this case try to give more variation to your zoom shots. I think I noticed 3 zooms in a row... that might be too much for some. Also do test runs with these zooms so it's nice and tight and you don't have to adjust angle during the zoom.
You know, one thing I absolutely love is sideways dolly shots. This can ofcourse be a bit hard without an actual dolly, but you can achieve something similar with a homemade stabilizer (the t-section one with metal piping works pretty good...). Then do the finishing touches in something like AE or anything else that can track movement.
I don't want to sound like you did a poor job, because you didn't. I wish more guys like you would spend time learning how to do this job.
So get out there, and like you said, you can make movies about anything... don't let anyone tell you you can't do this or that. Your imagination will decide what's right!
:)
Edit: realised I didn't see your mud race vid. I actually think that was nicely done, apart from the excessive contrast ;) (a matter of taste, some like it some don't... let the client decide.) Your zooms worked fine and the freehand motion came more to its right here than on the beach.
I might sound old fasioned, but I like when the camera movement fits the atmosphere of the scene... therefore a more tranquil movement might have suited the beach shots better. Where the raw action environment of the huge trucks work excellent with hard zooms and a little motion in the pans.

Ok so do you guys think they would increase the amount of batteries in the keyboard?
I'm aware that it wouldn't be a very apple thing to do, but what do you think?
Currently the batteries take up about half of that little cylinder shape at the top. If they really squeezed they could put 4 batteries instead of two in there... But that would still only last 4-7 days tops.

I hear a lot of confusion about this. I don't know why TechCrunch said what they did, but by all accounts, there is no golden master right now. This is just a developer preview. After this there will (probably) be betas. And after that there will eventually be a golden master or two.
Right. Adobe and other big software manufacturers need at least > 6 months to optimize their software (much more than just InDesign and Photoshop) for the new OS. Apple probably wants to optimize Lion for Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Bridge#Ivy_Bridge) (via Intels Mac OS X compilers (http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-software-development-products-for-mac-os-x/), not just via the GCC), which means that we will see Lion GM/RTM in January/February 2012 and Lion final in March/April 2012. This would make more sense, because it reduces additional development costs for Apple, after Ivy Bridge comes out.

it's advertising. they use what looks best. one tv advert [where i am] showed someone doing their banking via the internet on an imac. the bank concerned doesn't support macs. a large pc seller has a an advert about leasing instead of buying, the computer used in the advert is a pismo, the apple logo is PSed out

I can't figure this one out. I successfully jailbroke my 1st gen iPad after using pwnage tool and tetheredboot.
However when I open cydia and do the required updates it asks me to reboot, so I do so but it keeps on going through a boot loop.
I then put it in DFU and do the tetheredboot command in terminal but it fails every time saying:
Macintosh-6:~ Eddy$ /Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/tetheredboot -i/Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/iBSS.k48ap.RELEASE.dfu -k/Users/Eddy/Desktop/tetheredboot/kernelcache.release.k48

So then my only option is to restore again through itunes and rejailbreak which means I loose the updates I install. I've done this about 5 times now and it's really pissing me off.
Is snowbreeze more reliable then the method I'm using? If so I may have to boot in bootcamp and try.
I'm not a Mac user but I believe your issue is with libusb If you google on this you'll see it is a common error, I believe you'll also find info on how to correct the issue...
Hope that helps to get you started...

There is a minor difference - the new iMacs have an ambient light sensor which will provide ideal brightness whether you are in a dark or well-lit environment.
If you manually set the brightness, does it return? Perhaps the display was set too bright/dim for the conditions?
From Apple's site: "To conserve power and relieve eyestrain, a built-in ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen brightness on MacBook, MacBook Pro and iMac to suit the ambient light of whatever room youre in."
Very Possible, thats your answer there...

Yes that is correct. It does chime, and the light flashes. After about 5 minutes the fan start to speed up and that's all it does. I never see anything on either screen.

Question about incase slider, is it as bad with bubbling up screen protectors as I've heard? The case is EXACTLY what I've been looking for but I NEED a screen protector. I've been looking at the power source hd anti glare.
definitely terrible. For sure won't work with anything other than a crystal screen protector (since everything else is thicker) and its gotta be good quality thats cut basically perfect. (cheapies will not work 99% of the time) and youll prolly have to apply the shield with the case on unless u got lucky or did a really good job.
incase slider is a great case tho.

If you just type "cd New" then press Tab, it'll autocomplete the rest of the command for you.
Learn something new everyday! :D But to clarify, you have to be in the volumes directory first, and it does actually have to start with "New" right? ;) But I did the same trick with another volume and it worked nicely. Very cool.

I presume since this uses the undocumented (apart from the header files) IOConnectCallMethod it would not be OK to include in an app for the Mac App Store?
You'll probably have to try it to find out for sure.
However, a google search for IOConnectCallMethod found this:
http://lists.apple.com/archives/darwin-drivers/2008/mar/msg00007.html
It suggests IOConnectCall* functions are newer replacements for older deprecated functions. So using the older functions WOULD get you rejected, but the newer ones, I dunno: try it and see what happens.

Wow, you are such a great help. Thank you so much...
Seriously though, why even bother helping if you have nothing to contribute?
I am contributing. If you delete files without knowing what they are, you could be deleting files needed by Mac OS X or by other apps. Since there's no need to delete them, it's a wise recommendation that you don't. If you want to delete them, go ahead. You asked if it was safe to delete them. I answered your question. My answer is "if you don't know what they are, it's not safe to delete them."
If you don't want answers, don't ask questions.

Now, once iPhoto has opened/launched, will it operate any faster or smoother if iPhoto is installed on a ssd vs. if it was on a hdd?
Probably not. If your iPhoto library is anything like my iPhoto library -- it would eat up 1/2 of a 256 gig SSD. Same with my iTunes library. And my movies folder.
So your iPhoto library will have to be on the platter drive.
Same people who talk about their "tons of Aperture work with RAW files" -- well those files wont be fitting on a 256 gig SSD.

Well it's been almost 1 year after introduction of Iphone 4 and there is only ONE out of FOUR basebands that is unlockable via ultrasn0w - 01.59.00
Long story short now all I have is 03.10.01 and have been saving it for the past few FW updates (via tinyumbrella etc). But I was wondering if I am just worrying for nothing if there will never be unlock for this baseband? I mean there is no unlock even for 02.10.04 either and it's older baseband than mine..

The way I read this article is: Apple is going for that little bit more, which cost a bit more also but they know that the potential clients are willing to afford it so why wouldn't they do it? Samsung can't afford the same move so they cry out loud saying their better...
(Ok maybe it's a little exaggerated but you get the idea...)

Has anyone asked how many handsets o2 have?
I asked today but they wouldn't say. They did say they would have both 16&32 gb models though. I'm hoping it'll just be us three in the queue, that way we'll all leave the store happy!
