Ralph Fiennes to direct William Shakespeare's ‘Coriolanus’

Oscar nominated actor Ralph Fiennes, who plays Voldemort character in the Harry Potter movies, id going to make his directorial debut with the film ‘Coriolanus’. The film is an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Roman tragedy novel ‘Coriolanus’. Apart from directing, Fiennes will also portray the title role of the proud but contemptuous soldier Coriolanus spurred on by his mother to run for the Roman Senate, which ultimately leads to his downfall. Vanessa Redgrave is in talks to play the role of Coriolanus' mother Volumnia. Currently, the film is in negotiations with financiers to produce the film.

The film is set in the early years of the Roman Republic, is one of his most politically challenging examinations of the way power corrupts. In the aftermath of a famine, the people demand the right to set their own price for the city's grain. In response to their protests, the ruling aristocracy grant the plebeians five representatives — a decision that provokes the ire of Caius Martius, who has nothing but contempt for the lower classes. After winning a war against a neighboring tribe, he is granted the name Coriolanus, and returns with the hope of joining the Senate.

Media reports of "Harry Potter" star Daniel Radcliffe gaining access to huge amounts of cash when he turned 18 Monday were overblown, his publicist's office said.
"It's not a big deal today," said a woman who answered the phone at the office of Radcliffe's publicist. She refused to give her name, saying she wasn't an official spokeswoman.
She refused to elaborate, saying Radcliffe's finances — and birthday party — were a personal matter.
Radcliffe, who was 11 when he was first cast as the schoolboy wizard in the films based on J.K. Rowling's novels, is gaining access to a $19 million investment fund, People magazine reported in its July 23 issue.
British newspapers have estimated that he has a total net worth of $35 million, with two more movies in the "Potter" series yet to be filmed, the magazine said.
"Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," the latest movie starring Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, is now in theaters.
Rowling's seventh and final book in the series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," was published Saturday.

Emma Watson wants to get naked like Daniel

Harry Potter star Emma Watson wants to follow in Daniel Radcliffe’s footsteps by dropping her clothes.

The 17-year old Brit, who late last month was voted her country’s ‘Greatest Female Ambassador’ in a poll conducted by Top of the Pops magazine, said that she was hoping that she too would get the chance to drop her nice girl image by shedding her clothes – especially after seeing Radcliffe’s performance in Equus.
"I'd like to think I would (do that). Not that I want to get naked, but I hope that something like that will come along. That's the plan anyway," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
Watson, who plays the muggle-born witch Hermione in the hit movie adaptations of the JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series, will now be seen on the big screen in the fifth Potter flick, ‘The Order of the Phoenix’.
The actress recently admitted that when she auditioned for the first film as a 10-year-old, she had no idea that the franchise would make her so rich.
Watson, who now earns a reported 4 million dollars for each Harry Potter film, insisted that though she has enough money to retire for life, she doesn’t want to stop working.
