A woman that takes a vow of “for better or worse” should have been right at his side during his press conference showing her support. That was the moment to prove she took her vows seriously.

Paul Krugman is unsustainable in his present form: Says there’s nothing wrong with Medicare

I think I’ve been banned from Memeorandum because I wrote a post disagreeing with Paul Krugman, the “Yoda” the Left.
Today, Paul has come out with another one of his pronouncements Liberals will no doubt hang their hats on this week.

Liberals love to introduce Krugman as a Nobel Prize winner in economics. But, I think the majority of Americans aren’t impressed by this anymore because they know it’s an award offered by Liberals to other Liberals they like. Let’s get real, folks. President Obama was given the Nobel Prize after serving hours as president. So that award has been forever rendered relevant only to the Left.

Krugman believes Medicare is okay in its present form.

So this business about Medicare in its present form being unsustainable sounds wise but is actually a stupid slogan. The solution to the future of Medicare is Medicare — smarter, less open-ended, but recognizably the same program.

So the people who have been administering Medicare haven’t been smart enough, or at least not as smart as Paul Krugman.

Thanks Paul for clearing this up for us mere mortals that don’t have your intelligence.

But, I’m still not grasping what Krugman means by “open ended”. Far be it from me to complain that a Nobel Prize winner didn’t offer up a specific example of what the heck he meant. Not smart enough I guess.

But it does sound like Krugman has a problem with seniors living to a ripe old age and the medical costs associated with that. Are you bringing back the dreaded “death panels” Paul? Is this the smarter way to do Medicare?

Maybe Krugman needs to write another article.

This is the haunting final photograph of a young mother who was gunned down in a triple shooting that left her boyfriend dead and his brother fighting for his life in hospital.

Crystal Sweet, 22, was believed to be pregnant with her second child when she was shot in the courtyard of a building in Brooklyn, New York, as she made her way home from an all-night party.

She had been photographed just hours before as she left for her night out on Saturday, looking happy and relaxed in an orange dress with a matching handbag.
Her boyfriend, 29-year-old Timothy Walter, who had spent time in prison and was in parole, was shot dead at point blank range during the attack, at about 5am on Sunday.

Miss Sweet, still wearing her beautiful dress, was shot three times in the head and neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Walter's elder brother, Cornelius, was also shot several times, and is in a critical condition in Kings County Hospital.

Miss Sweet had got all dressed up to go to a barbecue in Bedford-Stuyvesant with Cornelius earlier that evening, leaving her five-year-old daughter, Lydia, at home with her mother.

According to the Post the pair were met by Miss Sweet's boyfriend when they got off the bus at Sheepshead Bay, where she lived with her family.

Killer tornado hits Oklahoma City at rush hour

Tornado Spring continues in America’s heartland. Let’s hope the loss of life will be small to none. It’s been an agonizing time for people who have lost everything.


A deadly string of tornadoes and thunderstorms rampaged Tuesday through central Oklahoma, killing at least two people, injuring many others and destroying homes and vehicles, officials said.

Canadian County Sheriff Randall Edwards told CNN a large tornado that crossed I-40 near El Reno destroyed residences and caused a gas leak at an energy plant west of the state capital.

County Emergency Management Director Jerry Smith told CNN the storm, which eventually moved past Calumet and Edmond, north of Oklahoma City, killed two and caused numerous injuries

NYC bans smoking in public outdoor spaces

More government intrusion into the private lives of people. This new expansion of the smoking ban to parks, beaches, and pedestrian mass seems very wrong to me.

And I’m not even a smoker!

However, it’s become very fashionable to treat smokers like modern-day leapers. However, there’s a huge hypocrisy involved here. If mother government hates smoking so much and it’s so dangerous, why not ban it entirely?

The answers is obvious, Big Brother wants to continue collecting taxes for cigarette sales. So smoking is so terrible, but not terrible enough to cash in on it.

MyFox reports six people were injured when -- for the third time this year -- a jumping castle was blown away Saturday.

This time it happened to a group of fifth-graders celebrating the end of their school year. As the winds began picking up, parents were able to get their children out of the bouncy castle when -- just minutes later -- the castle was thrown in the air.

California Woodland Hills attorney David A. Cohn gets nine years in Internet sex sting

When are we gonna get serious about these types of sex crimes? 9 years is a joke of a sentence for a guy preying on prepubescent girls.

How about 30 years?


L.A. Daily News reports a Woodland Hills attorney convicted of a dozen counts, including attempted lewd acts on a child, that stemmed an Internet sex-crime sting was sentenced Friday to more than nine years in prison.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Curtis B. Rappe denied the defense's request for probation for David A. Cohn and ordered him to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The judge said Cohn focused on "prepubescent" girls who were from broken homes or had learning disabilities, and that he viewed the defendant as an "extreme danger to society."

Cohn was convicted last Nov. 24 of five counts of attempted showing or sending of harmful material to a minor, four counts of attempted lewd acts upon a child and one count each of attempting to contact a minor with the intent to commit a lewd act, possession or control of matter depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct and arranging a meeting with a person believed to be a minor for a lewd purpose.

The case was filed after Cohn communicated in the summer of 2007 with an undercover FBI agent posing as a 13-year-old girl, according to Deputy District Attorney Susan Schwartz.

Cohn was arrested on July 22, 2008, by the FBI at his Woodland Hills home, but was released from jail soon afterward. He had been free on his own recognizance until the jury returned its verdict.

One of Cohn's attorneys, Patrick Clancy, told the judge his client "has denied that he ever met with any child," and that the prosecution offered a 90-day jail term early on in the case, which his client turned down in an effort to save his law license.

Cohn also turned down another offer to plead to a misdemeanor count during the trial, according to the prosecutor.

Massachusetts teacher 'refused to hang child's drawing of U.S. flag because it would offend Jehovah's Witness student'

Daily Mail reposts an elementary school was under fire today after a teacher refused to display a child's drawing of the American flag for fear it would offend another student who is a Jehovah's Witness.

Frankie Girard, 11, drew the picture during his art class at Butterfields School in Orange, Massachusetts. He claims his teacher refused to hang up his picture on a wall beside those drawn by his classmates as it would offend the other student.
He further asked if he could put it on the window or on his desk but was told to take it home and hang it there.

His father, John, has now called the American Civil Liberties Union and is accusing his son's teacher of putting the rights of another student ahead of his son’s. Mr Girard said: 'He was denied hanging the flag up. And he asked if he could just even hang it on his desk, and he was told no, he could take the picture home and be proud of it there.

‘We’re allowing him to display his civil rights and be proud of who he is, but we’re denying Franklin those same rights.'

Mr Girard said that the dispute did not just start with the drawing of the flag. He said that the student in Frankie's class is a Jehovah's Witness and does not pledge allegiance. He said: 'Frankie did not know much about Jehovah's Witnesses at the time and merely asked his classmate why he did not do it. But they don't pledge allegiance to anything.

I think this particular teacher is using the Jehovah Witnesses excuse to cover up her own dislike of the flag.

Video: California swim coach Geoff Capell quits after 'pulling girl from water by hair... she did not swim fast enough'

If that was my daughter getting her hair pulled by a coach, they’d just have to call 911 because he would need an ambulance.

Daily Mail reports a swimming coach has resigned after he was allegedly caught on camera pulling a schoolgirl from the pool by her hair after she did not swim fast enough.

The shocking footage appears to show the assistant coach at Roseville High School, California, reach down into the water and grab the 17-year-old girl’s hair after her team finished fifth out of six in a competition.

Coach Geoff Capell was reportedly unhappy that the captain of the varsity team Jennifer McCarroll and another girl were not giving the race their best effort.

The video has caused outrage after it was posted online and Placer County police are investigating the alleged assault.

The girl’s mother Tiffany McCarroll told MailOnline that she has filed a complaint with police.

I see this type of stuff everyday on the way to work.

New York Post reports in an epic meltdown, a passenger came unglued on a Bronx subway train last week — stripping off his clothes and chasing people naked through a station before finally being subdued.

The rowdy rant, which was caught on video May 2 and today went viral on the Internet, starts with a 41-year-old man on the northbound No. 6 train shouting epithets before stripping down to his boxers.
As he continues to rage against African-American and Jews, a transit cop can be seen in the frame talking into his police radio.

After hurling insults in the officer’s direction, the man suddenly doffs his skivvies and runs, butt-naked, from the subway car.

Dashing onto the Hunts Point Avenue station, he continues screaming and then attacks a straphanger, ripping a bag off her arm as she walks up some stairs.

He smashes the bag to the ground and runs around the staircase, at which point police and other passengers finally take down the wild man.

He was arrested and taken to Lincoln Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

The officer who made the collar was sent to Jacobi Hospital with minor injuries.
