Indians will now be able to type their emails in 5 Indian languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam with Gmail. Gmail has recently introduced this new feature.
While composing a new email in Gmail, the user will see an icon with a Hindi character, which is enabled for Gmail users in India, by default. In case the user is not able to see this function, the user can go to 'Settings' page and enable it in the 'Language' section.
After clicking on the languages icon, the user can type the words as they sound in English. Gmail automatically converts those words into the selected Indian local language.
Google has also made this feature available on Google India Labs, Orkut, Blogger and iGoogle.
