still not given up.. though its fading.
i've now tried custom firmware making sure im in pwned dfu mode for 2.2.1 and 3.1.3 using both pwnagetool and sn0wbreeze.

    all return error 6.

tried using itunes 7.7 on windows but that cannot connect to software update server...

im pretty certain its not on ipad baseband now. i've added the ecid to tinyumberella but it doesn't see it and 'fix recovery' option fails.

also tried using ireb then sn0wbreeze custom firmware- no joy.
tried pretty much all official firmware.

has anyone seen this sort of error before and it be hardware related?

The border around the content area (just outside the drop shadow) isn't the same as the background...is that intentional?

It could be to do with web-safe colours- when you designed the images did you use photoshop with the pallette set to 'web'? Just an idea. Also, Macs use a default gamma value 1.8 whereas windows uses 2.2, and again perhaps it's something to do with that. I'm stabbing in the dark here really, because I'm not sure. I've had some weird problems with my own sites that are only apparent under Safari...

"Battery life is better" is the new "Safari seems snappier".

These are the ONLY things Apple said about 4.3.3, so what are you people on about?

Can you get into the recovery partition ( command-r ) ?

Yup, I tried fixing the permissions, says the group was 0 instead of 80. After that and I reboot same thing

love the slider's look, feel, and protection but hate the weight it adds and that its not the easiest of cases to slide in and out of my pocket.
Anyone know any cases similar with a tight fit on the phone and protective enough like the slider but a little lighter?

Go to Macromedia's website and download a free 30 day trial of Dreamweaver. The interface is easy to understand. The color coding text makes looking at the code alot easier. And, you can preview pretty much instantly what you've done, so you can toy around with the code to see what everything does. Good way to learn. I learned on Dreamweaver(pirated), then went to notepad when i re-evaluated my morals, and then went back to buy dreamweaver for mac when i switched over. If there's a notepad-equivalent for macintosh, you can probably use it for webpages once you've learned html for about a month.

People brick iPhones because they are trying to unlock it and have to mess with the baseland. Theres really no risk in simply jailbreaking. Worse thing that can happen is you have to reset and restore. As far as iOS updates go, if you update, you lose your jailbreak. The jailbreak for 4.3 has not been publicly released yet and the tethered version that is out now is crap so wait for a public release of a 4.3 untethered jailbreak, or downgrade to 4.2.1 (if you saved your SHSH blobs) and jailbreak with Greenpois0n.

Maybe it means they're not sure, as in: "What is Toronto???"

    I hear that it's a US city.

Looking at the GUI aspects, Lion seems to be optimized for small screens and is particularly irritating for using with multiple displays. "Full Screen" blanks any secondary displays! Agree that Launchpad looks ridiculous.

I don't like the change in operation for Spaces, and the change in keyboard assignment seems gratuitous, but at least the assignments can be changed back.

However the changes "under the hood" (particularly resume, version control, and off-line TimeMachine) look good indeed, but most will require updated software. I expect the iWork suite to be updated at the time of Lion's release, which will help. Other Apple-centric developers will certainly play along, but I expect long waits for Microsoft Office and Adobe CS.

Basically, I want to get an ibook, either refurb or used--just something cheap that will do internet (wireless), word processing, and that's about it. I have a biggger mac for storing music burning dvd's etc.

There's a nice ibook on the refurb page right now. My question: if I let this one pass will something else come up on that page pretty soon or is it a rare thing to find this kind of deal.

My reason for not buying now is because I did not plan to get something this soon, and money would be a tad bit tight to spring and get it right now. Should I spring for it now (aka credit card) or is it safe to wait for this deal to surface again?

Thanks for the reply BTW :)

I think Adam Iser and Evan Schoenberg and the rest of the Adium gang deserve some serious props here....outside of the apple aps, firefox, and MS Office, Adium is my most used piece.

Most likely to help promote being in the keynote attendance. Or it's out of MacWorld's budget. Or Apple said no, because they want exclusive rights to the video and want to put it online on their own terms. Sounds to me like the ladder.

You mean "latter". But yeah I guess......no its still stupid. They need to put this stuff up live!!! They can afford it dang nabbit!! And they had better put up the freakin video that night........IN HIGH RESOLUTION TOO!!!!
