Tons and Ramona and Beezus reviews surfed the internet yesterday and earlier today. Of course I don't agree with all of them. Not because I'm a fan of Selena but I've honestly thought the acting was rather PERFECT and especially Selena who did a wonderful job on the movie and I'm so proud of her. She was the perfect "beezus" and I can't imagine someone else playing the role now. Joey was INCREDIBLY amazing and I see a great future ahead of her. But again this is my opinion. Its always great to see what the others think. Here's a few reviews by top critics via rottentomatoes.com and thanks to Anything Disney. Feel free to share your opinions about as well :)
Grand Prairie's own Selena Gomez, 18, glows in every scene she's in, from frustrated sister to comforting sister, from mortified teen to a young teen in love. Most impressively, The Wizards of Waverly Place star consistently supports King's Ramona, proving herself as much a true ensemble player as the fine adult cast.
Dallas Morning News
Despite her title billing, Beezus (Selena Gomez) doesn't get much to do here, apart from getting annoyed with her sister and fawning over longtime friend Henry Huggins. But the often thorny relationship between the sisters is handled with an honesty that approaches the authenticity of Cleary's vision.
Npr.orgBig sister Beezus is played by Disney Channel star Selena Gomez-- a box-office concession that's less than ideal, but far less distracting than the filmmakers' original choice, Miley Cyrus.
