Angelina Jolie’s latest mission is fighting cancer. The 32-year-old actress — who lost her mother Marcheline Bertrand to ovarian cancer earlier this year — has pledged her time and support to TV star Fran Drescher’s Cancer Schmancer Movement.
The charity strives to ensure all women’s cancers are diagnosed in Stage 1, when they are most curable. Fran, 49, said: “Angelina’s mother did not win her battle, so she is going to lock elbows with me and we are going to do some things together.”
Fran — who launched the movement this year, seven years on from her own successful battle with uterine cancer — says the key to beating the disease is positive thinking.
Angelina — who is a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador — was so distraught when her mother died in January she broke down in tears during a TV interview
