‘12 Rounds’, a high speed action thriller film starring WWE professional wrestler John Cena in the lead role is directed by Renny Harlin of "Die Hard 2”, "Cliffhanger" and "The Long Kiss Goodnight” fame. The flick is produced by WWE Studios and Mark Gordon of "Speed" fame. The movie is also starring Ashley Scott, Steve Harris, Gonzalo Menendez, Aidan Gillen, Brian J. White, and Taylor Cole. The script has been written by Daniel Kunka. Trevor Rabin is composing the music for this film and editing is by Brian Berdan. The movie is rated "PG-13" for strong sequences of violence and action by the MPAA.
The film is about a cat-and-mouse battle of wits and nerve between unassuming New Orleans detective Danny Fisher (John Cena) and criminal mastermind Miles Jackson (Aidan Gillen). Danny’s girlfriend Molly Porter (Ashley Scott) is kidnapped by Miles Jackson tied to his past. He is playing dangerous games with Danny carefully planned throughout the streets of New Orleans. Danny will have to successfully complete twelve challenges in order to rescuing his lady love.

John Cena is playing the character of Danny Fischer and Ashley Scott is acting as his girlfriend. Aidan Gillen is portraying the role of internationally-known terrorist named Miles Jackson. 20th Century Fox films’ is distributing the film and is set to release in USA on March 27th, 2009.
