Oscars 2011

The 83rd annual Academy Awards went down last night with hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco.

Winners:



The King's Speech, 4: ‘Best Picture’, ‘Writing (Original Screenplay)’, ‘Directing’, and ‘Actor In A Leading Role’ (to Colin Firth)



Inception, 4: ‘Cinematography’, ‘Sound Editing’, ‘Sound Mixing’, and ‘Visual Effects’.



The Social Network, 3: ‘Music (Original Score)’, ‘Film Editing’, and ‘Writing (Adapted Screenplay)’.



Toy Story 3, Alice In Wonderland, and The Fighter all took home 2 Oscars each (including Melissa “F-bomb” Leo and Christian Bale for both ‘Supporting Role’ awards). While Natalie Portman earned Black Swan one for ‘Actress In A Leading Role’.







Highlights:

• Anne Hathaway and James Franco's opening skit.  "You just got Inceptioned!"


• More than half of Anne's outfits.


• Kirk Douglas eating up half of the show to present one award... He's pretty fly for an old guy.


• Melissa Leo dropping the FUCK word and me being able to hear it loud and clear thanks to the lack of delay on the channel I was on.


• Justin Timberlake on stage joking, "I'm Bansky!", the anonymous graffiti artist nominated in the 'Documentary' category, but lost.


• Russell Brand translating Helen Mirren.


• Auto-tuning the movies.  You know it's the future.


• Christian Bale and his bushy beard seemingly forgetting his wife's name.


• Sandra Bullock calling Jeff Bridges an award hoarder.  Seriously, she saved the day.

Lowlights:

• Josh Brolin and Javier Bardem in matching white tuxes and not even explaining why... WHY?


• Reese Witherspoon's hair clip... So grade 8.


• Cate Blanchett's lavandar bubble dress with green barf stains.


• Jude Law and his hairline Ricky Gervais'ing Robert Downey Jr.


• Gwyneth Paltrow's "performance" with her white microphone.  And if you never did that again, that would be great.


• Corey Haim not making the 'In Memoriam' segment.  What the fuhhh?


• Tom Hooper's side screen shot while accepting his Director award.  That is just MEAN.


• Anne Hathaway turning into a "woo" girl.  "WOOOOO!!!"  One "woo" too many, girl.


• Everything about James Franco past the opening skit.

Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy cast in Batman 3

I don't know about this... Anne Hathaway as Catwoman?  Well technically she's not "Catwoman", she's "Selina Kyle" who may or may not eventually become Catwoman.

Director Christopher Nolan made the casting announcement of The Dark Knight Rises to Access Hollywood today saying, "I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Anne Hathaway, who will be a fantastic addition to our ensemble as we complete our story."



Also set to star in Nolan's third (and final) Batman movie is Inception star Tom Hardy.  YES!  He. is. so. hot.  He will play "Bane", the comic book character famously known for cracking "Bruce Wayne"/Batman's back putting him in a wheelchair.  Asshole.

You've still got to wait until NEXT summer though, July 2012, to see Christian Bale do his Batman voice for the last time.

Golden Globe noms

The Golden Globes is my favorite awards show because it not only combines TV and movies, BUT everyone there is always slizzard!

The nominations for the GGs came out today and only some of it is disappointing but I can assure you I will make it clear what I'm not happy with.

I approve that Glee is in the lead with 5 nominations!  30 Rock, Modern Family, Mad Men, Dexter, The Good Wife, and Boardwalk Empire all have 3.

James Franco and Anne Hathaway to host 83rd Academy Awards!

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today that actors James Franco of “127 Hours” and hot Anne Hathaway of “Love and Other Drugs” will be hosting the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony on February 27th, 2011.

James Franco and Anne Hathaway to host 2011 Oscars

One of Hollywood's biggest stoners, James Franco, will be 1/2 of the hosting team for the Oscars next year.  Anne Hathaway will be the other half.

This seems like such an odd choice, does it not?  But the Academy Awards producers tell Entertainment Tonight, "James Franco and Anne Hathaway personify the next generation of Hollywood icons -- fresh, exciting and multi-talented. We hope to create an Oscar broadcast that will both showcase their incredible talents and entertain the world on February 27."



Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne's Love And Other Drugs/Brokeback Mountain co-star, is probably so pissed right now...

Alice in Wonderland official teaser trailer

The film ‘Alice in Wonderland’ is being directed by Tim Burton. The screenplay was written by Disney's own Linda Woolverton, of Beauty and the Beast, Homeward Bound, and The Lion King previously. The movie is based on Lewis Carroll's beloved series of books that were first published in 1865. Disney is bringing the flick in both digital 3D and 2D theaters worldwide on March 5th, 2010 early next year.

The film stars Johnny depp, Mia Wasikowska, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Anne Hathaway, Michael Sheen, Stephen Fry, and many more talented actors.
