I have filed on July 2nd itself and still no receipt, no FP notice, nothing. Called USCIS 3 times and they asked me to wait until it's been 3 months after the filing. Then only they will do something it seems.
BTW, how can I get to 2 Level representative?

My PD is Jul 31, 2006 and I am going to add my wife to the application on June 1st. She is on H-4 right now.
How long does it take to get the AP and EAD? Can she leave the country without the AP.

I just got back on AP a few days ago. My AP was issued in Dec 08 with validity upto Dec 09. When we entered US in Jan 09, it was stamped with a parole dated Jan 2010exactly a year from the arrival date. I asked the officer as to what would be the actual expiration of the AP since there are 2 different dates (1 month apart in my case). The officer replied that if i had to leave the country again using the same AP then i would have to return back before the original expiration date of Dec 09.
I have no idea why they would stamp a year from the date of entry when the validity is considered to be the original expiration date.
Best would be for you to schedule a infopass and inquire to confirm.

Our current immigration problems are a great reason to unite, to strive to achieve a worthwhile goal. Sure we're facing challenges but, in my opinion, we have a lot to be grateful for. One has only to read the aforementioned CNN article to see just how tough life can be when it chooses to be. My green card problems (only mine, not yours) certainly seem trivial compared to the lifetime of pain life has visited upon those women. Read it-say a prayer for those less fortunate souls-and then resume the struggle with renewed determination.

I just received my H1B starting Oct 1st. My desi (cheap) employer first decided to not pay me till Oct 15th because I didn't have a SSN. Then after my SSN came they decided that they wanted to reduce my salary, the reason being that the company's economic situation has changed since Jan filing.
I am concerned because I am going for my visa stamping in March and the last thing I want is to be out of status! When I mentioned this to my boss his answer was -- We will give you a letter stating that you are working reduced number of hours, and we cannot afford the salary promised on I-129.
Can somebody help? What are my options? I was on H4 and moved to H1. I am really frustrated with their attitude and in this economy it is really hard to find a job.
Any help would be great.

I have Canada PR since October 2006. In October this year I will complete 3 years since landing in Canada. The rule to maintain PR is that one should live in Canada for at least 2 years in a 5 year period. Since I have not lived in Canada more that a couple of weeks since landing, will I be allowed to move to Canada after completing 3 years outside Canada or will I be sent back from the border? Has anyone moved to Canada after living outside for more than 3 years since landing? Please advise.

If under the bullet point (b) you have an option to choose "other" then choose that.
EAD is not a status; pending I-485 allows you to be "legally present" in the country without having a "legal status". Similarly, AP allows you to travel out of the country and reutrn without abandoning your pending I-485 application. (At least that's what my understanding is .....)

Could you please guide us in self filing?
a) Is there E- renewals? What about photographs for such renewals?
b) What documents are required for renewing?
c) Where can we find information regarding EAD and AP renewals?

He is now blackmailing me to pay the amount or he will give negative feedback/comments/reason for me in H1 cancellation letter.
I didnot sign any agreement with him.
What is the H1 cancellation form/letter?
Does it have any impact on my Green Card Process? Please Advise.
