The breaking news is the House Democrats have decided not to undertake Tax cut bill in the House, meaning the new tax cut deal announced by the President will not hold good anymore.
Tax cuts will expire automatically end of 2010, meaning everyones bi-weekly paycheck would get cut 50-100 bucks if nothing happens

A# is either someting that you get by the following ways:
1. If you were a student and were on OPT the EAD card had an A#
2. Sometimes when your I-140 is approved it comes with A# (NOT ALWAYS NO ONE KNOWS WHY/WHY NOT)
3. When your I-485 is accepted most likely you will get a new A#
So if you have 1 or 2 use it else leave it blank.
That's your alien number and it's given to you when your I140 is approved. See my post above.

I just wanted to bump this and get people's opinion on what paper work and other things we should be aware of by not changing the employers who sponsered our green card, but have applied for 485, have I-140 approved (180 days passed since I-140 approval and I-485 receipt dates) and received EAD/AP.
I guess lot of people are in this category. So far, the only advise I have seen is: Extend H1 instead of using EAD.

First of all you are not supposed to involve in any of the PERM process. Its plain illegal. It seems you are taking the wrong route for your porting.
I know but when there is a chance, we must make sure. Who told u that always works.

I have one question. I have 140 and 485 concurrently applied. If there's an rfe o 140 will they ask for paystubs ? I have some personal problems recently and I dont have paystubs for about two months.
Please advise.
Depends on what kind of company you work for and what kind of proferred wage your GC application has and what kind of money you been making on w2s since your labor process has started. Again it all depends on whether you receive an RFE or not but if you work for a company that is H1B dependent and has multiple 140 petitions pending and your application is filed with NSC , I think you should be prepared for an RFE on your companies ability to pay.

I would be appreciated, if people returning at NJ Airports can post their experiences of Successful re-entry . That would definitely be helpful to all other people, who will have to travel, in case of Emergency.
I and my wife entered successfully at EWR, end of Feb this year. I'm on my 7 year on H1-B that was stamped just a month ago in Ottawa Consulate in Canada. Also, I had new passport renewed from India. My Visa was stamped on my old passport that was expiring in Dec 2009.
My wife is in her 4th year (2nd extension) of H1-B and her Visa was stamped as well, a month ago at Ottawa Consulate.
There were no issues at all at POE. We were asked what we did at our respective companies, but were not asked for any letter etc. Both of us are permanent employees in our companies.
Feel free to PM me if you have any specific question regarding our POE experience at Newark Airport.
