For my final H1B extension, I used Chugh law firm and my employer did premium processing with them. Got my 3 yr extn in 2 days!!! Not sure if its the law firm or just my case.But they were prompt in paperwork and my interaction with them was only twice. Just honor their checklist and u r done.
However, for GC, I used Mr. Michael Khosla's (The Law Offices of P. Michael Khosla & Associates, P.C. www.usimmigration.net (http://www.usimmigration.net)) services. Reasonable fee and awesome service. Never had any issues and got my GC in 2010

If the employer is good it is ok, what if not?
I don’t know how many of our most productive life time is going to be stagnated because of this GC wait.

I had my FP done yesterday (Sep 27). My notice date is Aug 28th on 485 and I received FP notice in the first week of september.
I think you should call them immediately as you should have not only gotten you FP notice by now but also got your FP done.

Does any one here has Newark NJ as their ASC? Reason is my notice date is august 27th from TSC and I haven't received my FP notice yet. My wife has the similar issue as well. I've called USCIS atleast twice but they are not ready to open service request and are saying that the ASC must be busy.
I wanted to find out if any one of you here has notice date after august 27th and have already got FP notice from Newark (NJ) ASC.

It goes to the FBI database. They do an extensive backgroud check on you for upto 7 years. They go verify your background in your home country too. If you remember they would have asked you to fill up a biographic information form along with the fingerprinting.
I have submited my FP all 10 fingers when I was working for my past employer which was a financial company dealing in Credit Cards business. They collect it when they issue badge as part of security and its a federal requirement for financial company. I am not sure if they maintain it internally or send it to FBI for storage does any one have any info?

I also own a Nikon D40X. I feel you should adjust your aperature for the highest number that will allow a shot. My reason for saying this is that depth of field, the control of areas of sharpness in a photograph, can be easily done by graphic software after the shot is processed. My experience comes from film slr cameras & lots of darkroom time. Since switching to a digital slr I now shoot for everything as sharp as possible & then alter the areas in a photo that I want less sharp later. Saves time & makes for overall sharper images.

My I-140 (Sch-A cat-II, recipt date 08/24/2006, upgraded to premium on Oct-25) got approved on Oct-30, 2006
My I-485 was also filed concurrently. I already got finger printed 09/06/06 and there were LUDs on I-485s after that on O9/07/06 and 09/14/06.
After my I-140 approval on Oct-30, My and my families I-485s has LUDs on 10/31/06 and 11/1/06.
Based on your experience, does the recent LUDs on my I-485s suggest some type of approval process?
Can you share your expereiences and knowledge and tell me what these recent LUDs on my I-485s means?

USCIS Ombudsman resolves general issues like delay in NSC for I-140 approvals.

I know a friend in the exact same boat.. A very big multi-national co. with more than 10K employees.. they are even revoking his EB3 that was filed in 2004.. It's not USCIS rule.. it's just some employers being strict with their internal rules..
Unless you work for a big company with lots of benefits.. time to get EB3 filed.. and then bolt the first chance you get..

As far as I can tell even (1) and (2) only apply to Naturalization applicants.

I don't see any benefit as I will continue to renew my H1-B, AP and EAD.. so I f I can reenter using AP then why go through so much pain to H1-B visa stamp? Please advice if I am misunderstanding or missing anything...

There is an issue. You have to make a trip to the local police station every six months to register your child. If you're lucky, the officials will be polite and helpful and do this without fuss. But knowing India very well, they're more likely to create a fuss till you've bribed them. Also, now they know where your child lives and the fact that he/she is a US citizen. Who knows, what kind of people they will pass on this information to...
Conspiracy theories aside, the whole procedure reeks of the way sex offenders have to register with the police in the US - I just don't like it.
So this Police station registration is if the child starts to live in India or when the child visits India? Where is this rule documented?
If such rules exist, then there should be a formal complaint with the nearest Consulate General. They are reasonable people.

$1000 is a lot for Premium Processing and VSC is profiting a lot from this. They are running a business for sure....
Its only extensions which are a long time.
USCIS is self-funded from application fees. They don't get any other funding as far as I know. So, sure they are running a business.
I know its not cheap, but atleast there is a way. I have been in this long enough to know times when it took a long time without an option of premium processing.
You can always make your employer pay for the fees.
