does anyone know anything about backpacks for laptops that you can use to go biking? As in a bag thats meant for biking

Did you change the machine id on the other installations? Are they all in seperate folders so the data files dont overlap?
I've never seen that error from the log..

If it is indeed a dead pixel, which it looks to be, Apple most likely will not replace it, considering that only one out of 1,049,088 pixels on the screen is a dud.

Is it true the Thunderbolt ports taking the place of the HDMI ports in the 2010 model that you no longer can view the computer screen contents such as photos etc. on a TV like we can with the iPad2?

So true. Between my SLR, Samsung Focus, and Cannon SD780, I see no reason to keep my P&S, except that I couldn't sell it for much, and it's a quality camera in case I ever need to take a camera somewhere and don't want to use my cellphone? Do situations like that even exist?

it could be that I am in a no service area for most of the day and the phone keeps trying to get the service so maybe I just need to switch it into airplane mode whenever I have no service.

Do you have WiFi in that area? If you are connected to WiFi when in a fringe area, it will help.

I can agree with the OP. The other day at BestBuy they didn't have 4gb in stock but I managed to find one. Thinking I was the man by finding the last and hidden 4gb only to get to the register to have it rung up at $240. Turns out it was one of those bundles that came with three lego games. :(

Last week, my airport express went from awesome (~80% signal strength to my iMac, great speed) to sucktacular (~5% signal strength, terrible speed, when it worked at all). An investigation revealed that a visitor had unplugged the airport, and had stuck it in a power bar between two brick power adaptors (one for the cable modem, and the other for the charging station for some wireless headphones). Obviously, the interference and shielding from those two angry spools of copper were causing the problem - a quick relocate to the original outlet restored my signal to its earlier levels. Dunno if you have the same problem, but if you do, its a quick fix :)

Do you have SHSH blobs saved for 4.2.1. If you do then upgrade to 4.3.1 and save your SHSH blobs and then downgrade back to 4.2.1 using your 4.2.1 blobs.

otherwise, just wanna say that this sucks. i like a lot of streaming audio sources, and i prefer qt/itunes whenever possible. those choices seem to be winnowing, not expanding. :mad:

What is a good app for a newbie to create a webpage? I want something simple and easy, free would be a plus. I also have a simple knowledge of html.
After a lot of deciding, I bought and am now using Dreamweaver. It isn't free though. If you qualify for a student/faculty discount it is $99. I am using the book Dreamweaver MX 2004: the Missing Manual (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0596006314/qid=1127826156/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-6951142-5757641?v=glance&s=books&n=507846)
which is helping me a lot. I love the tutorials which you can download from the books website.

OK, someone recognized the abbreviations and proved that the graph is accurate (provided the context I noted was absent). One could also come up with another arbitrary explanation for the graph involving a parabolic piece-wise function given the fact that you can't infer specific curvature characteristics from a hand-drawn graph. It doesn't magically invalidate my point. The point was to show that there could be a logical explanation for the graph and the submission was stupid. That point was made.
For instance, lacking a scale, let's suppose that graph passes through (0,0), (1,1) and (2,0). This results in an equation of y = -x^2 +2x. However, we notice that to the right of 1, we should have a decreasing dependent variable. However, they share a common point, 1. When x = 1, n = 1 (using the alphabetic rather than the Greek for simplicity's sake). Also, when x = 2, n should be 0, to flip about the point of 1. When x = 0, n should be 2 (again, flipping about 1). This results in n = -x + 2. Solve for x and substitute into above parabolic equation, and you have a graph that both roughly matches what is shown and satisfies those inequalities for n. Seeing the spacing and using n = 1 as an indication of scale, I think these are reasonable assumptions. If you feel different, pick whatever point you desire and solve again.

I can't think of anything that is free, but for someone just wanting to make a webpage (and not spend hours, days, years to become a professional) I usually suggest either Create (http://www.stone.com/Create/Create.html) or Freeway Express (http://www.softpress.com/en/freeway/express).
When I just need to put up a page or two on my own sites I use Create. Otherwise I use GoLive and OmniWeb (for editing source code) as the main tools for creating sites for my clients. Plus Create shares a service that will convert rich text in TextEdit to html to be dropped into an html document later (saves a little time).
