Veronica Zimmermann is professor of contemporary needle lace and bobbin. It is primarily an exceptional artist. Some some of the works we had the pleasure to present to the public during the European Heritage Days on 18 and 19 September 2010 in Mons-en-Barœul. From left to right and from top to bottom: Blue Night, Carnival, Fly Me, Movement of water and Congetta. His studio is located in Flanders Méteren.
Let him speak: Lace, which is not an invention within the meaning of the term, but results from the evolution of different techniques, continued during the twentieth century, to adapt to art world in which it operates, including the contemporary textile art. Thus the current work of the artists moved toward a "homecoming" namely: the contrast between transparency and opacity, the first concept of the word "lace" . I chose to focus my research in this field and deepen the technique of crossing the son, by reconsidering the basic points, and using other materials and colors. I try and let live wire and the material by capturing their every whim to achieve a harmony between the solid and empty. Many students followed me in this research and also learned how the art of lace still contains many mysteries and resources it is our responsibility to disclose. is an artistic practice Changing to the twenty-first century.
