JetBlue guy sentenced to 1-year in a mental health program

Steven Slater, the JetBlue flight attendant who snapped on the job this summer, has been sentenced to one-year in a mental health program today.

You may recall, Slater was the guy who released the emergency inflatable slide after one of his flight's had landed, grabbed two beers (YEAH he did), and slid to unemployment after he quit via the plane's PA system.  He was arrested shortly after for trespassing, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Today, CNN reports Steven plead guilty to two criminal counts of mischief in court and worked out a deal where he would spend a year in a mental health program.  Upon completion, he will be ordered to pay a $10,000 fine (the cost of replacing the Slip 'N Slide).  Originally, he faced up to 7 years in prison for his lil hissy fit.

If the legendary Steve gets arrested during his sentence, he will receive an automatic 1-3 years in jail.  Also, while in the mental health program, he will be assigned medication and if he refuses to take it, again, jail will be the punishment... Are you serious??  Seems ridiculously harsh to drug the guy up because he lost it at work one day.

So I guess his reality TV show is NOT happening then...
